Trouble

I've been having zero luck getting my posts to show up on The Hype Machine through YouSendIt and I'm thinking about abandoning them for greener pastures elsewhere....and so here is a track from another file host company to see if something shows up...

For a while I followed The Hype Machine's popularity chart pretty closely and I wanted this blog to be on there somewhere most of the time...but I am limited because I don't want to get the blog in trouble so I don't post anything that has not been released officially yet...furthermore, I'm just not too excited by some of the groups that make up the "most popular" list...I want to write about things that strike me as interesting or tie into something else I'm interested in. Sure Santogold, MGMT, or the latest Justice remix are okay but they don't get my juices flowing...so I've been posting older songs and larger posts about a single topic...nonetheless I am surprised to find the blog at #2 on the chart with my Rapture post...it goes to show you never can tell...

I don't think we've ever gotten to #1 on the list...but then again The Who never made it either.

The Road To #1

I had half-heartedly joked to myself that I should start writing about my quest to have the #1 most popular song on Hype Machine...and then I go ahead and post a Jens Lekman song and bingo bango I am at #2...

I know January and February are traditionally pretty slow months for great new releases but come on people, the new Vampire Weekend isn't the second coming of you know who...it starts with a "C"....any guesses?? Clap Your Hands Say Yeah...

Lucky #13

Since Hype Machine became the "new and improved Hype Machine" that it is today, I have been having trouble tracking my posts popularity...posts would appear on the "Popular" charts for a few minutes, then I would hit refresh and it would be gone all together...I had been enjoying seeing my blog on the charts mainly on the weekends as that's when I have time to post...but low and behold today we're back at lucky #13...It is still surprising to me that people read this blog...thanks!

When I started writing these posts, in my mind I envisioned my girlfriend and my mom reading my posts and not much else...but over the weekend this blog made the Top 10 most popular tracks at the Hype Machine for my Ben Harper post...Wow...
